Disinfection robots using UVC and hydrogen peroxide are the most widely used and sought after robotics solutions in the region at the moment due to COVID-19.
A June 2021 study by VMR projected that UV disinfection robot market will grow from $127M in 2019 to 5.57B in 2027, a staggering 32.6% CAGR.
Robots can carry disinfection tasks quicker and on a wider scale. As per the guidelines of the American Association for the Healthcare Environment Services (AHE), a 30m² hospital room takes 40 minutes to disinfect using traditional disinfection and cleaning methods. While not all venues require a thorough disinfection and cleaning, this gives an indication to what is expected. On the other
hand, a spray disinfecting robot can disinfect 2,900m² within the same period while operating for 4.5 hours on a single charge.
